'O Canada' wildlife - nature greeting cards from Canadian photographer Kelly Funk

I'm very excited to be able to bring you a project that makes me very proud to be Canadian, one that I've worked very hard on to produce over the last 2 years. the 'O Canada Nature Cards' is a greeting card series that typifies Canadian wildlife and landscapes with dramatic scenes from our great country. They're sized at 5.5 x 7.5", come with envelopes and there are 26 cards in total.

We live in a fantastic place and this series is something that takes me back to my roots in photography when I used to escape from a Northern BC city on the weekends to visit and photograph the great Rocky mountains years ago. To be able to showcase what I've always thought is the most beautiful and diverse country on earth and then convey those emotions and experiences within this series has been very rewarding to say the least.

We are definitely living in a critical time with regards to our environment and its wildlife, and with this series I feel I've taken a small step in meeting an obligation to at least showcase these treasures for all to enjoy, and ultimately allowing other to gain a new respect and understanding for our natural world.
**Please note: I'll have the entire series on my site www.naturalwonders.ca shortly, showcasing all images with information on how to purchase.

Enjoy! Kelly

Additional Kamloops photography workshop / course

Due to the strong demand for the workshops already established, we've created another workshop pertaining to environmental leisure and lifestyle portraiture.

Sept 12 2010- Outdoor family and leisure portraiture. If you’ve been frustrated trying to capture solid images of family or friends in the great outdoors, this is the workshop for you. I'll lead you into a new realm of exciting portraiture that will teach you how to freeze that special moment, use exciting techniques to create dynamic motion images, control strong lighting conditions and fill in harsh shadows created by the sun using your flash. This is a half-day workshop, starting at 0900 at Riversyde park. Cost $75.00. Maximum 10 participants. If enough interest is shown, an overflow workshop may follow.

Happy Olympics!
Kelly

Kelly Funk's Khutzeymateen Grizzly photography workshops / courses 2011

Just a couple days ago I was able to solidify the new dates for the Khutzeymateen Grizzly workshops for 2011. The information can be found on the link below or on the main page of my site, the dates are: June 7-12. Please note that after April 30 any bookings are subject to the soon to be implemented HST or Harmonized tax. Prices shown in the brochure include tax but after April 30 the price increases by the additional 7% tax, or $200.00. I have started booking already and there are a maximum of 7 spots available. If you didn't get a chance to read last fall's Outdoor Photography Canada magazine feature article I did, 'Grizzlies of the Khutzeymateen' you missed reading about the raw emotional connection this place and its bears offer. I kid you not, it is a truly amazing experience! See here for more information. FYI, I am totally booked up for this May's date.

Lastly, if you care about our natural environment and the wildlife that inhabits it, please check out www.stopthegrizzlyhunt.org It amazes me that the government can still allow the senseless slaughter of what is arguably our most iconic and noble animal.

Happy shooting,
Kelly
